Macron: The COVID Crisis and the War in Ukraine Have Increased Global Divisions

French President Emmanuel Macron stated today, Thursday, that "the COVID crisis and the war in Ukraine have increased divisions in the world." In a speech at the "Summit for a New Global Financial Pact" in Paris, Macron emphasized that "we must address the challenges of poverty in the world through international solidarity." France is hosting the international summit "for a New Global Financial Pact" on June 22 and 23, at the invitation of Macron, with participation from several heads of state and government, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, along with officials from international organizations and representatives from global financial institutions, the private sector, and civil society.
