Video: Six People Killed in Attack on Arabat Airport

A local official and a security source told Reuters on Monday that "six people were killed in an attack on Arabat military airport, near Sulaymaniyah province in northern Iraq." Two security sources indicated that Kurdish security forces cordoned off the area. A police source reported that "two members of the Kurdish security forces were injured in the attack and were transferred to a military hospital in Sulaymaniyah under tight security." The police noted that the identities of the deceased have not yet been determined. A security source stated that initial information suggests the use of a Turkish drone in the attack targeting a site suspected to be linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Arabat is a small airport used by helicopters, located 50 kilometers east of the city of Sulaymaniyah in northeastern Iraq.
