According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita agreed to set a date "in the near future" for what will be Netanyahu's first visit to the kingdom. The Moroccan News Agency confirmed in a personal message that King Mohammed VI thanked Israel for its stance, stating that Netanyahu's visit "opens new possibilities for bilateral relations between Morocco and Israel." A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department noted that the United States' recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara has not changed.
