Title: Moroccan King Invites Netanyahu for Official Visit

The office of the Israeli Prime Minister indicated today, Wednesday, that Moroccan King Mohammed VI has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for an official visit, two days after Israel recognized Morocco's sovereignty over the disputed Western Sahara region. According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, Israeli National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita agreed to set a date "in the near future" for what will be Netanyahu's first visit to the kingdom. The Moroccan News Agency confirmed in a personal message that King Mohammed VI thanked Israel for its stance, stating that Netanyahu's visit "opens new possibilities for bilateral relations between Morocco and Israel." A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department noted that the United States' recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara has not changed.
