The U.S. Marine Corps reported that a military pilot was killed in a crash late last Thursday near a Marine Corps site in San Diego, and an investigation into the incident has begun. The Marine Corps stated in a press release that the pilot was the only person on board the F/A-18 Hornet when it crashed, and search and rescue personnel recovered the pilot's body near the crash site close to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
