EU Maintains Restrictive Measures Against Iran Under Nuclear Proliferation Sanctions Regime

A statement indicated that EU member states will maintain restrictive measures against Iran under the nuclear proliferation sanctions regime following the transition day of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on October 18. The statement added: "The Council has taken legal steps to maintain the UN-imposed sanctions on individuals and entities involved in nuclear or ballistic missile activities or linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard." It further stated: "The Council also agreed to continue the measures targeting sectors and individuals under the EU sanctions regime, particularly those related to limiting Iranian nuclear proliferation as well as the arms and missile embargo."
