Lebanese geologist Tony Nemer explained via his social media account on "X" (formerly Twitter) today, Thursday, that "following what I mentioned on March 21, 2023, about the flooding of the streets in Iskenderun, I confirm from there that the ground level of the city dropped between 50 centimeters and 1 meter due to the earthquakes on February 6, which caused seawater to enter the streets. The authorities are now building a sea wall to mitigate the impact of the water, especially during winter storms."
