The U.S. State Department stated today, Friday, that Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed during a phone call their joint commitment to ending the conflict in Sudan and addressing humanitarian needs there. The fighting that erupted on April 15 has led to the displacement of civilians from the Sudanese capital and has also triggered ethnically motivated attacks in the Darfur region. The Foreign Minister conducted a phone call with the U.S. Secretary of State, during which they reviewed aspects of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and enhancing collaboration in various fields, as well as discussing developments on the regional and international fronts and the efforts being made regarding them.
