MacGurk: We Want to See Lebanon Governed in Favor of the People, Not Personal Interests

The White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett MacGurk, commented on the sanctions imposed on the former Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, stating: "The United States is taking this action alongside the United Kingdom and Canada, partners who share the United States’ vision of a Lebanon that is governed for the benefit of the Lebanese people and not for the personal wealth and ambition of Lebanon’s elite."
