The TASS agency quoted a political source in Ankara stating that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hopes to have talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin before the start of the United Nations General Assembly week on September 19. The source said, "Erdogan and Putin will meet before the opening of the General Assembly. The exact date is still under negotiation, but it will take place before the United Nations General Assembly." It was noted that the two parties intend to discuss the prospects for a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict.
