America: China's Response to Fukushima Water Discharge is Economic Stubbornness

U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Ram Emanuel, stated today, Thursday, that China's reaction to the discharge of treated radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean "only pertains to economic stubbornness and political motives." He added that he expects the United States to support Japan if Tokyo decides to file a complaint against China at the World Trade Organization due to Beijing's ban on Japanese seafood imports. Emanuel visited the city of Soma in Fukushima to express his support for the local fishing industry after the water discharge from the disabled nuclear plant began.
