Canadian Police Recover More Bodies

Canadian police have recovered two more bodies, including that of an infant who had been missing, near the US-Canada border on Friday, raising the death toll to eight from two families trying to enter the United States from Canada using a boat across the St. Lawrence River. Shawn Dulude, Chief of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police, told reporters, "We have recovered two more bodies, one of a Canadian infant of Romanian descent and one of an adult woman believed to be Indian." Dulude ruled out the possibility of more bodies yet to be found, but stated that police are searching for a missing man named Casey Oakes (30), whose boat was found near the area where the victims were recovered. The Canadian police had retrieved six bodies on Thursday and believe the incident may have occurred on Wednesday night.
