The President of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, stated that "the agenda of today's Cabinet meeting does not comply with the constitutional situation of any caretaker government." Geagea emphasized that "the preservation of institutions cannot be achieved by circumventing the constitution, nor by exploiting the exceptional situation that the country is experiencing to carry out actions that have nothing to do with caretaking." He pointed out that "the governing majority that insists on bypassing the constitution in governmental matters is the same majority that insists on overriding it in presidential elections by obstructing 12 consecutive electoral parliamentary sessions." He viewed that the insistence of the current governmental majority, composed of the resistance parties and their allies, to disregard the constitution in both governmental and parliamentary matters is responsible for the deterioration of the country's conditions and is "dragging the Lebanese people" into a situation that is worse than what they currently endure.
