Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated today that "the leaders of Italy, the Netherlands, and the European Commission are likely to announce an EU aid package for Tunisia during a visit this weekend." Meloni will travel to Tunisia on Sunday along with her Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, aiming to make progress in removing obstacles for Tunisia to access loans from the fund. Meloni noted that the planned EU aid package will pave the way for securing funding from the fund, saying: "It seems to me that important steps forward are being taken."
