Destruction of Large Quantities of Drugs in Baalbek

The Regional Drug Enforcement Office in Zahle destroyed quantities of drugs in its possession at the Deir al-Baydar dump, based on an order from the relevant judiciary authority. Present at the event were: the Attorney General of the Bekaa, Judge Monif Barakat, the Head of the General Criminal Investigations Division, Brigadier General Eli Klass, the Head of the Regional Drug Enforcement Office in Zahle, Major Elias Shalhoub, Captain Qassem Safwan, an officer from the Public Relations Division, the Head Clerk of the Public Prosecution, Charles Abou Khair, as well as several officers and non-commissioned officers from the office. The destroyed drugs included: "hashish, cocaine, captagon, marijuana, and narcotic pills."
