Erdogan: The Solution is to Establish a Sovereign Independent Palestinian State

The Turkish presidency reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan informed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a telephone call on Thursday about the "necessity of establishing a geographically integrated sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, for a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict." The presidency stated that Erdogan and Scholz also exchanged views on "ways to address the humanitarian crises that the region and the world are watching with concern." Erdogan reminded that "Turkey is doing its utmost to resolve the crisis as quickly as possible and is ready to engage in numerous peaceful steps, including mediation."
