In Cyprus: A ChatGPT-Powered Robot Takes Over Classrooms

High school students and their teachers in Cyprus have developed a prototype of a robot powered by artificial intelligence technology, "ChatGPT," to enhance teaching experiences in the classroom. The robot, named "Einstein," is equipped with ChatGPT technology and was developed by three schools; it stands at the height of a small adult. The robot speaks English with a North American accent, can tell jokes, attempt to speak Greek, and offer advice on how to teach Albert Einstein's theory of relativity in class. Richard Eirkov, the 16-year-old head programmer of the robot, noted that artificial intelligence will improve significantly. He told Reuters, "It could help in many areas of life, such as education and medicine." Meanwhile, one of the teachers, Elpidoforos Anastasiou, who leads the project, stated, "It is a very interactive experience; students can ask it questions, and it can respond. It can also make it easier for teachers to explain the lesson more effectively."
