Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that he "will visit the Philippines in September to discuss defense and security cooperation, marking the first visit of its kind in 20 years." Albanese stated, "Our partnership with the Philippines is based on a foundation of close cooperation in defense and security, which strengthens economic ties and personal connections." The Australian Prime Minister's Office mentioned that "Albanese will travel to Jakarta in September to attend the Australia-ASEAN Summit, followed by a trip to New Delhi for the G20 Leaders' Summit."
