Antoine Saif, the head of the bakers' syndicate in Mount Lebanon, reassured in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" that wheat is available in Lebanon for about two months and that trucks will arrive gradually. He clarified, "There is no fear of a shortage unless a maritime blockade is imposed on the country similar to what happened in Gaza, but precaution is necessary." Regarding the possibility of grain silos to store wheat quantities, Saif emphasized the need to build new silos in several areas in Beirut, the north, and the south as a precaution for any emergencies. He concluded by confirming that the private sector is fully prepared to intervene to do so if the Lebanese state lacks the necessary resources.
