Washington Appoints David Satterfield as Humanitarian Envoy to the Middle East

Washington has announced the appointment of David Satterfield as a humanitarian envoy to the Middle East. Satterfield has served as the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and as a special envoy for the Horn of Africa. He has worked extensively in the Middle East, including the Gulf region, Lebanon, and Iraq. Subsequently, he served as an advisor to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and held the position of Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers.
