North Korea Celebrates the Construction of 10,000 Modern Homes in Pyongyang

North Korea held a celebration on Sunday to mark the completion of 10,000 new modern-style homes in the recently established Hwasong area of Pyongyang, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

The report revealed that "Leader Kim Jong Un participated in the celebration, along with several senior government officials, including Prime Minister Kim Tok Hun."

This event comes two months after Kim launched another housing project in February. North Korea had announced in 2021 plans to construct 50,000 new apartments in the capital over a period of five years. Since then, North Korea has stated that it has "progressed in a series of construction projects, some of which are still ongoing."
