The President of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Jaja, stated that "following the positive atmosphere leaked about the visit of the Minister of Displaced Persons in the caretaker government, Issam Sharaf al-Din, to Damascus, where he was informed by the Syrian Minister of Interior about the Syrian side's readiness to meet Lebanese requests regarding the return of Syrian displaced persons to their country, it has become imperative for the caretaker government to establish a clear operational timetable for the return of all Syrian displaced persons to their homes before the end of this year." He noted in a statement that "any delay by the government in this regard would not be justified and would thus be considered collusion regarding the attempt to settle Syrian refugees in Lebanon." Jaja called for the current government factions, particularly Hezbollah, Amal Movement, and the Free Patriotic Movement, to bear their responsibilities and to create a clear plan for the return of these displaced persons as soon as possible.
