Spanish Prosecutor Accuses Rubiales of Sexual Assault and Coercion

The office of Spanish prosecutor Marta Durantés Gil indicated on Friday that a complaint has been filed with the Supreme Court against the suspended president of the local football federation, Luis Rubiales, for sexual assault and coercion due to an unwanted kiss on the lips of player Jenni Hermoso. The office stated: "During Hermoso's testimony, she said that she and her relatives were pressured by Rubiales and his 'followers' to state that she had justified and consented to what happened." The prosecutor's decision came after Hermoso filed a criminal complaint, and it is now up to the court to present formal charges.
