The International Organization for Migration reported today that 37 migrants are still missing after their boat sank between Tunisia and the Italian island of Lampedusa, citing four survivors. The organization stated that the survivors arrived in Lampedusa late Thursday night after being rescued by another boat. The survivors told the organization that they left the Tunisian port of Sfax heading to Italy, and there were 46 people on board the boat, adding that their boat capsized due to strong winds. A spokesperson for the International Organization for Migration in Italy told Reuters, based on accounts from the survivors, that "a boat rescued five of their companions after the sinking incident, while 37 people, including seven women and a child, are still missing and are feared dead."
