It confirmed that "after reviewing that video and the accompanying announcement, the foundation officially requested that artist Carole Samaha and her production partners cease publication and delete everything related to attributing the song's lyrics to Mahmoud Darwish. In the event that this is done, the producer and the artist should approach the foundation to request permission to perform any of his poems they wish to sing."
