A medical spokesman in the city of Quetta, southwestern Pakistan, announced that four people were killed and 15 were injured in an explosion targeting a police vehicle. He stated, "The number of injured is 15, in addition to four fatalities." The separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the blast, marking the second attack on police forces in Quetta, located in Balochistan province, within less than 24 hours. The group's spokesman, Junaid Baloch, said, "The attack was a response to all the atrocities committed against Baloch individuals." A senior police official stated that the target was "the vehicle of the acting Director of Police Investigations, which was parked in Kandahari Bazaar." He noted that initial reports indicated that an improvised explosive device was planted on a motorcycle parked behind the officer's vehicle.
