German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated on Wednesday that "Germany looks forward to accelerating the withdrawal of its troops from Mali, in an organized manner, in light of the end of the United Nations peacekeeping mission scheduled for June 30." Germany, which has deployed around a thousand soldiers in Mali, aims to complete the ongoing withdrawal of its forces by May 2024.
