The Israeli Ministry of Energy announced today, Sunday, that four groups of energy companies submitted bids in the latest Israeli tender for offshore exploration areas. The ministry stated that the groups comprise a total of nine companies, five of which are new to the Israeli market. The ministry confirmed that the bids will be examined in the coming weeks before the names of the winning companies for exploration rights are announced. It added, "The scope of the bids and the diversity of the bidders indicate that new companies will explore for natural gas in Israel's economic waters."
