Scientists have revealed the phenomenon of a total solar eclipse occurring in several countries, which may hinder the sighting of the Shawwal crescent in several Arab countries including Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Astronomy professor at the National Institute for Astronomical Research in Egypt, Ashraf Tadros, explained: "The day of the Eid al-Fitr stand, which falls on April 20, coincides with a total solar eclipse, referred to as a hybrid solar eclipse." He confirmed that the moon will be close to the Earth that day, blocking the sun's disk, and the eclipse will appear as total in some parts of the world and annular in others. He pointed out that the moon will not be visible in the sky during the night hours, as it rises with the sun and sets with it, causing its illuminated side to face the sun and its dark side to face the Earth.
