Train Derailment in Arizona, USA

A train derailed last night in Arizona, in an incident that has become somewhat common, occurring in several U.S. states, particularly Arizona. According to reports, the freight train, which was heading to California, was carrying cars and trucks. The BNSF Railway indicated that the accident happened around 11:20 PM local time, noting that the train was traveling at a speed of 50 miles per hour when it derailed near some homes.

A total of 23 train cars derailed in an overnight crash east of Williams in Coconino County. The county's emergency management agency reported that the involved cars sustained heavy damage, but no injuries have been reported. Wes Dyson, Coconino County's emergency management director, stated that there are no environmental concerns or hazards, but cleanup efforts will take several days.
