The Ukrainian parliament voted on Thursday to extend martial law for an additional 90 days until November 15, ruling out the possibility of holding parliamentary elections in October. Parliamentary member Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated, "The vast majority of lawmakers voted to extend martial law." Elections cannot be held during martial law, and citizens were scheduled to head to the polls in October to elect a new parliament. This will be the first time a major vote has been postponed due to war. Ukraine is set to hold presidential elections in March of next year.
