Algerian Authorities Arrest Two Individuals Involved in Counterfeiting Currency

Algerian security services in the Naama Province, in the southwestern part of the country, arrested two individuals involved in counterfeiting the national currency and seized 40 million centimes. The judicial police managed to apprehend the first suspect involved in the counterfeiting, and after investigations and questioning, his accomplice was also arrested.

It was noted that "the operation was conducted based on information received by the service's members, indicating that the suspect was in possession of a sum of money in national currency suspected to be counterfeit." It was mentioned that "in coordination with the local prosecutor's office, a search warrant was obtained to inspect the suspect's residence. The results of the search were positive, leading to the discovery of a sum of 40 million centimes in the form of 2000 DZD banknotes, which experts confirmed to be counterfeit."

A criminal case has been opened against the detainees, and they were presented to the public prosecutor at the competent court.
