Ten people were killed and ten others, including children, were injured in two armed attacks that occurred on Sunday in the coastal city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, which has been experiencing violent clashes between drug gangs, according to officials.
The shootings took place in two of the city's impoverished neighborhoods, which have witnessed at least three similar attacks since April.
The Attorney General's Office announced yesterday that the first shooting occurred in the "City Lago" neighborhood in the south of the city, resulting in four deaths and ten injuries, including children. The second shooting took place in northern Guayaquil, where six people were killed.
