Jack Sweeney, who created an account tracking the private plane of billionaire Elon Musk, has joined the "Threads" platform owned by Mark Zuckerberg, following the suspension of his account on Twitter last year. In his first post on the Twitter competitor on Thursday, Sweeney said, "Elongate has arrived on Threads!" As of Saturday morning, Sweeney's account on Threads had gained over 21,000 followers. The Elongate account tracks the movements of Elon Musk's private plane using publicly available data. Twitter, owned by Musk, suspended the Elongate account in December and the billionaire threatened legal action against the account's operator after he claimed that a "crazy stalker" mistakenly tracked his son. Millions of users joined the Meta-owned Threads platform within hours, including prominent figures like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Threads aims to capitalize on Twitter's weakened state following a series of chaotic decisions made by Musk. Neither Sweeney, Twitter, nor Meta have yet responded to requests for comments from Reuters.
