Gabriel Makhlouf, a decision-maker at the European Central Bank, indicated on Tuesday that his colleagues at the bank are closely monitoring the developments in the Middle East, adding that "it is too early to assess the impact on the economies." After a meeting in Nicosia with Cypriot Finance Minister Makis Keravnos, Makhlouf stated, "My view on this matter is that it is too early to know the repercussions." He continued, "We are closely observing the developments as they must have some economic effects on us."
