The Ministry of Tourism announced that, based on the statement issued from the parliamentary and religious meeting held today with the residents of the Mar Mikhaiel Nahr area and Gemmayzeh Street at the Maronite Archdiocese of Beirut, and the recommendations issued from it, the ministry emphasizes its strong commitment to the comfort of the area and its residents. This was confirmed by Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar during previous meetings with the residents.
In a statement, the ministry noted that "the exceptions granted to tourism institutions during the holiday period have been automatically canceled with the beginning of the new year," stressing the necessity for all institutions to adhere to the conditions and laws and everything agreed upon to ensure the comfort of the residents and to avoid any problems or disturbances against them. It is noted that we are fully committed to protecting tourism institutions and investors in the area and safeguarding the tourism movement that reflects its beautiful image.
The ministry confirmed that Minister Nassar has instructed the tourism police department and the tourism inspection department to cooperate and coordinate with the relevant security agencies and the Beirut Governorate to crack down on violations and take legal action against any institution that does not comply with the conditions and laws.
