The Anti-Smuggling Department of the Lebanese Tobacco and Tobacco Monopoly "Regie" seized lands designated for growing cigar leaves in the Dhouq Mashbah area, as part of the administration's ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and counterfeiting, according to a statement released today. The department's personnel confiscated all the seized items, including equipment used in cigar manufacturing. In another statement, it announced a raid by department units on shops in the Dhouq Makayel area, from which large quantities of electronic cigarettes (vapes) were confiscated. Records were drawn up for the violators, which will be reviewed by the competent judiciary.
