Earthquake in Poland Results in Worker’s Death

Polish news agency announced on Saturday that "a worker has died and five others were injured due to an earthquake inside a mine in the Bielszowice area in southern Poland." The agency quoted a spokesperson from the Polish mining group saying that "rescue workers have brought five workers out of the mine." The spokesperson added that "one worker remained underground. Rescue personnel and a doctor reached him, but unfortunately, the doctor declared him dead." The earthquake occurred at a depth of one kilometer.
