The United States announced today, Tuesday, that it will provide additional humanitarian assistance estimated at about $172 million to Sudan and neighboring countries facing the impact of the ongoing humanitarian crisis there. In this context, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated in a statement: "With this funding, the United States will have provided over $550 million in humanitarian assistance during the current fiscal year to Sudan and its neighboring countries, including Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic, to address the needs of refugees, internally displaced persons, and those affected by the conflict in the region."
