Syrian director Rasha Shurbatji mourned her father, director Hisham Shurbatji, who passed away this morning, Tuesday, at the age of 75. Shurbatji posted a picture of her father on her "Twitter" account, along with words expressing her pride in him, saying: "The Sheikh of directors and proudly my father Hisham Shurbatji has passed away. Pray for him for mercy and forgiveness and do not forget all that he has given us, as we owe him a pure memory." She continued her tribute: "Today, the one who was my first teacher has left me. He has only departed physically, but his spirit will remain with me in all my details, in every moment he taught me how to stand behind the camera and operate it, in every moment I called him 'Dad' and found him by my side, in every word he said to me that I accepted or even rejected, in every hug and love and pride..."
