United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the agreements allowing for the export of food and fertilizers from Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea, while facilitating the transport of Russian food and fertilizer exports, as playing an "indispensable role" in global food security. UN spokesman Farhan Haq stated, "The Secretary-General and his team remain fully committed to building on the progress made so far and are continuously engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in this regard." Haq added, "The Secretary-General calls on all concerned parties to prioritize global food security." The grain export agreement via the Black Sea is set to expire on July 17.
