The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that following its statement issued on June 29, in which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned and denounced the act of a extremist burning a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Stockholm Central Mosque in Sweden after Eid al-Adha, the Ministry summoned the Ambassador of Sweden to the Kingdom and communicated Saudi Arabia’s absolute rejection of this disgraceful act. The Kingdom called on the Swedish government to halt all actions that directly contradict international efforts to promote values of tolerance and moderation, and that undermine the mutual respect essential for relations between peoples and nations.
