Canadian athlete Andre De Grasse, the Olympic champion in the 200 meters, has finally recorded the required time to qualify for the World Athletics Championship on the last possible day. The reigning Olympic champion won the men's 200-meter final as the Canadian track and field championship concluded on Sunday at McLeod Stadium in Langley, B.C. On Sunday, the 28-year-old De Grasse won the 200-meter race at the Canadian championships and qualifying trials for the World Championship, clocking in at 20.01 seconds, marking his personal best of the season, and surpassing the required qualifying time of 20.16 seconds.
