Lebanese Kataeb Party leader Deputy Samy Jamileh emphasized the importance of completing the presidential election to restore order to the political life in Lebanon and to end the institutional chaos resulting from the absence of a head of state. During his meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Yasser Al-Awlawi, Jamileh reiterated the necessity of electing a rescue, sovereign, and reformist figure capable of addressing all the longstanding issues, primarily the restoration of the state's authority and the role of Hezbollah and its weapons, as well as restoring Lebanon's historical relations with friendly countries while emphasizing the importance of Lebanon's neutrality. Regarding Lebanon's deteriorating economic and financial situation, he stressed the need to initiate a comprehensive reform campaign to set Lebanon on the path to recovery. Jamileh and Al-Awlawi reviewed the latest developments in the region and in the Lebanese arena, particularly concerning the presidential election, and Jamileh was briefed by his visitor on the atmosphere of the five-party meeting that took place in Paris.
