The interrogation session of former Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, concluded today, Wednesday, before Judge Charbel Abou Samra. The interrogation of his brother, Raja Salameh, and his assistant, Marian Hweik, has been postponed to Thursday, August 10, due to the urgent need for the Chairwoman of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Justice, Judge Helena Iskandar, to leave for pressing reasons.
Reports indicate that Salameh remains under investigation and may be questioned later in light of the testimonies of Raja Salameh, Marian Hweik, and other witnesses. It is noteworthy that Salameh is prohibited from traveling, awaiting a Lebanese judicial decision, while the possibility of his extradition to any European country for trial is ruled out.
