Local and international media reported that Niger's President Mohamed Bazoum submitted his resignation on Saturday evening and that he agreed with General Abdourahamane Tiani to resign to avoid bloodshed; however, the date of the resignation is yet to be confirmed. An advisor to President Mohamed Bazoum denied reports claiming the president agreed to resign as a way to resolve the crisis in Niger. Hassan Antakar told "Sky News Arabia" that those reports are "false," affirming that the President of Niger has no intention of resigning. Meanwhile, an internal document showed that the military council in Niger ordered the armed forces to remain in a state of maximum alert due to an increased threat of attack, and a security source confirmed the authenticity of the document issued by the Chief of Staff on Friday.
