American singer Lionel Richie, American singer Katy Perry, and the British band Take That, among others, will participate in a concert to celebrate the coronation of King Charles scheduled for next month. Organizers have described the event as an opportunity to celebrate a new chapter in Britain’s history. Richie stated, "Sharing the stage with other performers at this once-in-a-lifetime coronation event is truly special."
The official coronation ceremony for Charles, who became the King of Britain following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, last September, will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6. The following day, attention will turn to Windsor Castle, west of London, where the concert will be attended by about 20,000 members of the public and special invited guests. The lineup also includes Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, British songwriter Freya Ridings, Welsh opera singer Bryn Terfel, and British composer and pianist Alexis French.
