The head of the "Democratic Gathering" bloc, MP Taymour Jumblatt, called for focusing on tackling intractable crises, foremost among them the election of a president and the formation of a reformist government to address economic, social, health, and financial issues, and to restore the role of institutions to fulfill their natural and necessary functions.
On the occasion of Easter, Jumblatt extended his greetings to the Christian communities, wishing stability and security for the country, which should remain a shared priority to protect it and keep it away from contentious issues amid the overall strained reality.
On another note, MP Jumblatt addressed the issue of the shutdown of some sewage treatment plants in Chouf, following complaints from several mayors and municipal unions in the region. He demanded immediate action from those responsible, emphasizing the environmental and health risks resulting from such situations.
He also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, offering "a salute of admiration for their resilience against Israeli arrogance," condemning the attacks on worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which have also affected Gaza and Lebanese territories.
