Tunisian media reported that three journalists were nearly run over by a bus belonging to security forces while they were accompanying the Tunisian Minister of Interior during a visit to the Jendouba region in the northwest of the country. The local channel "Nessma" quoted the northwest branch of the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists, which confirmed in a statement that "journalist Hicham Al-Sghiri, a reporter for Tunisian Radio in Jendouba, journalist Mawlidi Zawabi, a correspondent for Tunis Afrique Presse, and journalist Asaad Harzi, a reporter for Express FM, were subjected to an attempted run-over by a security vehicle from the national security in the Jendouba region, during their coverage of the Minister of Interior's visit to the area, while they were prevented by the director of the national security region from covering the visit." According to the statement, the three journalists reported their protest to the relevant authorities, pending legal action. The branch of the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists expressed its strong condemnation of these actions in its statement, demanding that the Minister of Interior take all disciplinary measures against the responsible security officials.
