Sunak and Emir of Qatar Agree on the Need to Prevent Escalation in the Middle East

The office of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated today, Friday, that he and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani agreed on the necessity of preventing the escalation of violence in the Middle East and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Sunak's office added in a statement: "They emphasized the need to avoid any escalation in violence across the region and agreed that leaders have a responsibility to do everything they can to prevent this." It continued: "They agreed on the urgent need to deliver food, water, and medicine to suffering civilians." Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is traveling to Egypt today as part of a tour in the Middle East, where he will assert that there should be no escalation of violence in the region following the Hamas attack on Gaza.
