However, the French managed to turn the situation around and scored two quick goals through Kylian Mbappé in the 80th minute (penalty) and the 81st minute, ending the regular time in a 2-2 draw. Subsequently, extra time was played, where the Argentina team took the lead in the third period through Messi, but Mbappé equalized again by scoring a penalty in the fourth period, bringing the extra time to a 3-3 tie, leading to a penalty shootout. The Argentine team successfully converted 4 penalty kicks, while the "Roosters" scored only two, allowing the "Tango" team to secure the victory.
